The UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2023 has included 68 Pakistani universities, marking an increase from the 58 universities ranked in the 2022 edition. The UI GreenMetric World University Ranking, initiated by Universities Indonesia in 2010, focuses on assessing green campuses and environmental sustainability.
Utilizing 39 indicators and 6 criteria, the UI GreenMetric University Rankings meticulously evaluate universities based on their environmental initiatives and commitment. In this context, the Muhammad Nawaz Shareef University of Agriculture has secured the top position among national institutes. Following closely, the Khwaja Fareed University of Engineering and Information Technology and the University of Lahore are ranked 2nd and 3rd, respectively.
